Property is monitored by 5 exterior cameras. These cameras are for the safety of our guests and the security of our cabin when empty. Notifications are silenced after guests arrive and are only viewed if a complaint is received. There is no view of the hot tub and there are NO interior cameras. Locations include: front (2), side (2) and back patio railing.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended. We stand by our cancellation policy and do not refund for weather related events unless there is a mandatory evacuation order.
AirBnB requires us to notify you of the potential of dangerous animals. Beyond Pines is located in a rural setting and is surrounded by trees. It is possible, but not likely, to see wild animals such as snakes, lizards, rodents, raccoons, fox, opossum, birds, cranes, bats, cats, deer and other wild animals. These animals are free roaming and we do not have control of their actions. Never approach wild animals. You may also encounter bugs. Bugs are normal year-round but specifically in the Spring and Summer months. We have a contract with a pest control company who regularly services the property, but it is Oklahoma in the middle of a forest and there will be bugs. These bugs are typically seen outside, however if the doors are left open it is a possibility that they will welcome themselves inside.
Similar to rural areas nationwide, you will experience unpaved roads in and around Broken Bow and Hochatown. A small portion of the road leading to Beyond Pines is not paved, but it is a new road that is not mountainous and does not require AWD or 4WD to access under normal conditions, including normal rain. Broken Bow is growing and there is construction in all neighborhoods.
We notify all guests the day before check-in if a burn ban is active, but if use of the fire pit, outdoor fireplace and gas grill are essential for the stay it is the guest's responsibility to monitor the status. Burn bans are beyond our control and can be issued or cancelled at any time. Because of this and we are unable to update guests daily of the status between booking and check in. To check this, visit the Oklahoma Forestry Services website and look for McCurtain County on the map (Southeastern most county in Oklahoma).
About the OwnerHi! I am Jamie. My family loves visiting Broken Bow and ever since our first visit have dreamed of owning our own cabin one day. Some of our favorite activities include hiking in Beavers Bend State Park, getting lost in The Maze of Hochatown and eating pizza at Grateful Head. Unforeseen circumstances led us to owning this cabin much sooner than we ever expected and I hope that you love it as much as my family does! Our sister cabin, Copper Haven, is conveniently located right next door and sleeps up to 4 guests for anyone who needs more space for an additional friends, family or grandparents.
