Who can stay

How many people can stay at Beyond Pines?

Up to 8 guests. With no children on the reservation, up to 6 adults can stay. If any children are booked, the limit is 4 adults, because the top bunks aren't suitable for adults and are reserved for kids ages 6 and up. The limit of 8 includes day visitors, because of our insurance and septic system.

Do babies count toward the 8-person limit?

No. Children under 2 don't count toward occupancy. Airbnb and our booking form don't always let you enter an infant or a fifth child. Book the closest headcount and tell us the real numbers when you sign the rental agreement.

Do you provide a crib or pack 'n play?

No. For insurance and liability reasons we don't provide cribs or pack 'n plays, so please bring your own. We do have outlet covers, fireplace guards, kids' dinnerware, white noise machines, blackout shades and a bunk room full of toys (LEGO DUPLO, Lincoln Logs, Little People and puzzles). See the bunk room and playground in our photos.

How old does the person booking need to be?

The primary renter must be at least 25 years old when any children are in the group. Every primary renter also signs a rental agreement and uploads a photo of a state ID before we send the door code. See our House Rules for the full list.

Can we bring our dog or other animals?

Beyond Pines is an animal-free home because of the owner's medical allergies. We kindly ask every guest to help us keep it that way by not bringing any animals. Our House Rules have the details.

Can we host a wedding, party or event?

No. We have a strict no-parties policy, and the 8-person limit applies to visitors too, even for a short outdoor ceremony.

Booking and policies

Do you offer discounts, promo codes or a military rate?

Our nightly rates use dynamic pricing, so the price you see is already the best rate we can offer for those dates. Returning guests can message us before booking for 10% off (not valid on holidays). We don't offer other discount codes. For the best value, look at weeknights, early December or the weeks after New Year's, and ask about discounted gap nights next to an existing booking. You can check open dates anytime.

Can I add a night before or after my stay?

Often, yes. If the night before or after your booking is open, we offer it at a discount of 20% off the nightly rate, plus taxes. It's also the only sure way to get into the cabin early or stay late.

What's the minimum stay?

Two nights on most dates. Some dates need longer stays, and holidays have a 3-night minimum.

Is it cheaper to book direct than on Airbnb or VRBO?

Yes. Booking on beyondpinescabin.com saves you the roughly 15.5% that Airbnb and VRBO add on top of our rate. If you started an inquiry on Airbnb or VRBO, their rules require you to finish the booking on that same site.

Is there a security deposit?

Yes. VRBO and direct bookings have a $300 security hold, placed the day before arrival and released 5 days after check-out if there's no damage.

What is your cancellation policy?

For direct bookings, cancel at least 30 days before arrival for a 50% refund, minus a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 30 days of arrival aren't refunded. On Airbnb, the policy is shown on the listing before you book. We strongly recommend trip insurance, which we offer at 7% of the trip cost, or 10.8% for Cancel For Any Reason coverage. The full terms are in our House Rules.

What happens after I book?

You'll get a link to sign the rental agreement and upload the primary renter's ID. Once that's done, we send directions and your door code 5 days before arrival.

Arrival and the cabin

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is 4 PM and check-out is 11 AM. Entry is self check-in with a keypad, and your code works only from your check-in time. Please let us know if you'll arrive after 9 PM so we're available if the lock gives you trouble.

Can we check in early or check out late?

Early check-in may be available for direct bookings, for a fee, when no other guest checks out that day. Ask at least 24 hours ahead; we can't do same-day requests. Late check-out isn't available for any booking, and Airbnb and Vrbo bookings use the standard 4 PM check-in.

Early check-in (direct bookings only) Fee
9 AM arrival $100
12 PM arrival $60
2 PM arrival $35

Please don't arrive before your confirmed check-in time, even if the cabin looks empty. If you need more time, booking the night before or after is the only guaranteed option.

How do we find the cabin?

We send step-by-step directions before you arrive. Please use them rather than the Airbnb map link, which sends some guests to the wrong spot near the lake. Cell signal can be weak, especially on discount carriers, so review the route before you lose service. Our Location page has a map and drive times.

Is there room for a boat, trailer or extra cars?

Yes. The extended circle driveway fits trucks with boat or ATV trailers. ATVs and dirt bikes aren't allowed on the neighborhood roads.

What's provided, and what should we bring?

Provided: linens and towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, a hair dryer, salt, pepper and olive oil, dish soap, dishwasher and laundry pods, cleaning supplies, trash bags, coffee filters, and a starter supply of paper towels, toilet paper, ground coffee and Keurig pods.

Bring: toothpaste and personal toiletries, extra paper towels for longer stays, any spices you like to cook with, and a pack 'n play if you need one. Walmart+ delivers to the cabin.

What coffee makers are there?

A 12-cup drip coffee maker, a single-serve Keurig, a Nespresso machine, a coffee grinder and a milk frother. We stock a starter supply of ground coffee, Keurig pods and Nespresso pods.

How hot is the hot tub?

It's set to 99–101°F when you arrive. You can turn it down (to about 85°F in summer), but please don't set it higher. It seats 6 and has privacy screens. See it in our photos.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, free fiber internet (500+ Mbps), the fastest available in the area. Join the network using the Wi-Fi QR codes in the kitchen or bedrooms, then enter your email address on the sign-in page that appears. As with most rural cabins, Wi-Fi can occasionally drop, so download anything important before you arrive. There's also a desk in the primary bedroom for working.

What are the quiet hours?

11 PM to 8 AM. Beyond Pines sits in Hickory Ridge, a small neighborhood of about 12 cabins.

Location and the area

Where is Beyond Pines?

On the west side of Highway 259, between downtown Broken Bow and Hochatown. It's 5 minutes to Broken Bow's grocery stores and restaurants, and 15 minutes to the south entrance of Beavers Bend State Park. Our Location page has a map and more on the area.

Place Drive time
Beavers Bend State Park 15 min
Choctaw Casino Broken Bow 10 min
Grateful Head Pizza 12 min
The Maze of Hochatown 14 min
Lower Mountain Fork River 15 min
Broken Bow Lake Marina 19 min
Museum of the Red River (Idabel) 24 min

How bad is Hochatown traffic?

On Fridays during spring break and holidays, traffic toward Hochatown is heavy from about 3 to 6 PM, and restaurant waits get long. From the south side you can skip most of it: eat in Broken Bow those evenings, and leave on Highway 259 or Highway 3 at check-out instead of joining the Hochatown rush. More tips are on our Location page.

Where should we eat with kids?

In Hochatown, Mountain Fork Brewery and Grateful Head Pizza are favorites, best before 3 PM on busy days. In Broken Bow, try Papa Poblano's or Roma's for shorter waits.

Where's good fishing?

Broken Bow Lake for bass, and the Lower Mountain Fork River for fly fishing. Guests recommend Tied 2 Fly for a guided trip.

Can we book the cabin next door too?

Yes. Our sister cabin, Copper Haven (sleeps 4), sits next door on the same 2 acres, so the two together fit two families or grandparents. To book both, send us one inquiry for both cabins and your dates. See The Ridge Cabins for how the two compare.

Seasons and weather

When do the fireplaces work?

Both gas fireplaces, indoors and on the patio, run October 1 to March 31. Turn either one on with the wall timer beside it: press 30, 60 or 120 minutes, and allow a short delay before it lights. If nothing happens, message us; the pilot light may need relighting.

Is the cabin decorated for Christmas?

Yes, from the weekend before Thanksgiving until mid-to-late January. The tree and garland run on timers, so please leave them plugged in. We don't allow flame candles; battery LED candles are fine.

What about storms, snow and power outages?

Spring storms and the occasional winter snow do happen; we had 12 inches in January 2025. We message guests when severe weather is forecast. There's an emergency kit in the pantry, and the nearest public tornado shelter is in Broken Bow, about 2.5 miles away. Weather-related cancellations aren't refunded unless there's a mandatory evacuation order, so we strongly recommend travel insurance. When it snows you'll need a 4x4 or AWD vehicle, since we don't provide snow removal. If snow keeps you from leaving and the cabin is free, extra nights are 30% off.

Is pollen bad in spring?

It can be. Oklahoma's tree pollen season runs from as early as December into May. We blow and sweep the porch before each arrival, but pollen returns quickly, so bring allergy medicine if you need it.
